CREATIVE DIRECTOR

PASSION PROJECTS

It can’t all be work and no play so here’s a few of my favourite side projects.

3D SCANNING - Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working with museums to create highly detailed 3D scans and digital doubles of unique historical objects. Bringing these artifacts to life in digital form has been both a passion and a source of immense satisfaction, enabling greater accessibility, education, and preservation for future generations.

VR CINEMA — Combining my passions for film and virtual reality, I’m developing an immersive cinema platform that frees filmmakers from the 2D frame and lets audiences experience their favourite blockbusters in entirely new ways. Blending the energy of Secret Cinema with the interactivity of The Void, ‘VMAX’ brings films to life as characters, environments and visual effects spill beyond the screen. I also see huge potential for brand partnerships and interactive sponsorships within the experience. This project is bigger than one person, so if it sparks your interest, I’d love to hear from you. Here are some concept images I’ve created.

Below are two working demos made from scratch while learning 3D modeling and Unreal Engine.

VR GAMES - I have been hooked on gaming since my trusty 48K ZX Spectrum. For the last few years I’ve been combining VR with haptic feedback bodysuits and motion platforms to give an even deeper sense of immersion.

Here are a couple of VR game concepts I’m currently developing.

DOCUMENTARY - While living in New Zealand I shot, directed and edited a short documentary about a hidden race track on the idyllic Waiheke Island.

The film is still playing in the local Island cinema helping the race club change its perception from a meeting spot for tattooed hellraisers to a welcoming community from all walks of life sharing a common passion for amatuer racing.

MUSIC VIDEO - I was approached by a young rap artist to concept and direct a music video. As usual the pay was a packet of crisps and a Dr.Pepper but who was I to refuse.

The filming, editing and FX work was all done by myself learning as I went.
