EVERY NAME’S A STORY

We discovered members of the transgender community would often try out their new name in a Starbucks store and feel validated when it was called out and written on their cup.

We partnered with trans charity ‘Mermaids’ and our pitch campaign ‘Every Name’s A Story’ won the Channel 4 Diversity in Advertising award, beating 40 entries from London’s leading agencies.

A TV commercial was supported by first hand stories from members of the trans community on how they chose their names.

Starbucks received £1 Million worth of commercial airtime from Channel 4 and through a special instore cookie rasied enough money to fund the Mermaids helpline for another year.

The campaign went on to win multiple industry awards and praise from around the world and most importantly the LGBT+ community.
